Math Update

Here is an assortment of photos from some of our math lessons and practice over the past week. We did some lessons on equality, using cube trains we'd built to help figure out which expressions to use to make a true equation.

We practiced ordering numbers from least to greatest.

We played Number Rack Detectives, where we told our partner the total number as well as the portion of beads that were on one row of our number rack, then our partner had to figure out the number of beads that must be on the other row. (So, knowing the whole and one of the parts, we had to figure out the other part.) We know our combinations of 10 pretty well, but some of the other totals take some thinking.

We just began working with number lines this week in math. I sent home a parent letter today about that upcoming work.
